Coral Lavínia was born in Barcelona on february 1968 within the parish youth of the Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar. Today, it practices in the Santa Cecilia parish. It's founder and conductor is Miquel Saladrigues.

The coral is member of the Federació Catalana d’Entitats Corals and EUROPA CANTAT – EFJC.

It has performed many concerts in Catalunya, El Rosselló, Andorra, Vasque Country, France, Switzerland, England, Germany, Holand and Belgium, and it has worked religious repertoire, as well as secular one of all epoques.

It has a lot of experience relative to exchanges with other choirs and festival organization, as well as concert cycles. It's main charter, second to forming it's singers, has always been choral singing promotion, and it's with this spirit that it created and organized the first and second edition of the "Setmana de Música Religiosa de Barcelona" (Barcelona's religious music week), on years 1978 and 1979. On 1981 it organized the "Jornades Musicals a Santa Maria del Mar", and on 1986 the 1st. "Festival Coral de Primavera" (Spring Choral Festival), held at Centre Cívic La Sedeta.
